Kannauj perfume heritage
Kannauj has served as the perfume capital of India for over four centuries. The Ganges basin's humid microclimate and its long relationship with botanical distillation shaped a craft that still defines our collection.
The deg-bhapka method
01
Botanical materials are loaded into a copper deg and heated slowly over wood fire.
02
River mud seals the vessel so vapour travels only toward the bhapka receiver.
03
Cold water is poured over the bhapka, condensing the rising vapour into fragrant distillate.
04
The distillate collects in the receiver vessel and rests before it is bottled.
Knowledge kept by hand
We preserve the artisan judgement behind every batch so that Kannauj's distillation craft continues in its own honest form.
